Velika Plaža — Long Beach, Plazhi i Madh — runs for about 13 km from Port Milena to the Bojana river. It is the longest beach on the Adriatic east coast and one of the shallowest: the water stays knee-deep for tens of metres, which is why families with small children choose it. The beach itself is protected and largely undeveloped, so the hotels stand behind the coastal road in Štoj and Donji Štoj, a short walk from the sand.
Check availabilityHotel La Rosa Negra is one of them: about 2 minutes on foot from the water, with an outdoor pool, half board included in every rate, free WiFi and a 60-space private garage. Many rooms have a balcony facing the sea. The Old Town, Ulcinj's restaurants and the bus station are 4–5 km away — a 10-minute drive or a summer beach bus.
No. The beach is a protected natural zone, so hotels and apartments stand behind the coastal road in Štoj and Donji Štoj. The closest, including Hotel La Rosa Negra, are about 150 m — 2 minutes on foot — from the water.
The beach starts about 1.5 km south-east of the town; our part of it is 5 km from the Old Town — around 10 minutes by car or taxi (about €10). In July and August a beach bus runs along the coastal road.
June and September give warm sea (23–25 °C), quieter beaches and prices 30–40% below August. July and August are hottest and busiest. From October to May the beach is almost empty and many bars close; the hotel stays open with winter rates.
