Ulcinj (Ulqin) has three very different places to sleep. The Old Town and Mala Plaža are lively and historic, with restaurants on the walls, but also stairs, traffic and almost no parking in July and August. Velika Plaža (Long Beach) and the Štoj plain behind it are flat, quiet and family-friendly, with 13 km of shallow sand and most of the town's newer hotels. Ada Bojana, at the far end of the beach, is a remote river island for kitesurfers and naturists.
Check availabilityHotel La Rosa Negra is on the Velika Plaža side: a family-run 3-star hotel about 2 minutes on foot from the sand, 5 km from the Old Town. The rate includes half board (buffet breakfast and dinner), the outdoor pool, WiFi and a 60-space private garage. Rooms cost €40–150 per night depending on season and view, and booking direct is 10% below our Booking.com price.
Velika Plaža. The sand is fine and shallow for tens of metres, the beach bars rent loungers, and the area is flat and easy with children or a car. The Old Town is better for a city break: more restaurants and nightlife, but the beaches there are small and pebbly and parking is scarce.
In July and August a double room in a 3-star hotel is usually €90–150 per night; in June and September €60–100; in spring and autumn from about €40. Our prices include breakfast and dinner, pool and parking, so compare the total, not the room-only rate.
Podgorica (TGD) and Tivat (TIV) airports are about 80 km / 90 minutes away; Tirana (TIA) is 130 km / 2 hours via the Muriqan border. We arrange a private transfer for €80 one way, or you can take the bus to Ulcinj and a taxi (about €10) for the last 4 km.
