Plazhi i Madh, Ulqin — hotel 2 minutes from the sand

Plazhi i Madh — Velika Plaža, the Long Beach — is 13 km of fine, shallow sand from Port Milena to the Buna river. The water stays knee-deep for tens of metres, which is why families from Kosovo and Albania have come here for generations. Beach bars rent loungers (about €10–15 a set in season), lifeguards work in July and August, and the Ada Bojana end is the kitesurfing spot.

Good to know

Is Plazhi i Madh good for small children?

It is the shallowest beach on this coast — the sand slopes very gently, so children can play in knee-deep water far from the shore. Bring shade for midday; the hotel also has a children's pool section.

How crowded is it in August?

The diaspora weeks (late July to mid-August) are the busiest of the year — book early, arrive at the beach before 10:00 for the first rows of loungers, and expect queues at the Muriqan border on Friday and Sunday evenings. Late August and September are much quieter with the same warm sea.

Where do we park?

In our 60-space private garage, included in the price. On the beach road itself parking is paid and scarce in summer, so most guests leave the car at the hotel and walk.
